Flatwoods Monster Festival
September 12-14, 2002
Stanton T. Friedman, ufologist, will be the honorary guest lecturer at this year's
Flatwoods Monster 50th Anniversary Event. Mr. Friedman will accompany artist
Frank Feschino Jr. for the three day festival in Flatwoods W.V. Mr. Friedman
will lecture about the government cover-up of UFO crashes, stemming from the 1947
Roswell NM. incident to the Flatwoods Monster Incident of 1952.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Flatwoods Monster Incident which occurred
on September 12, 1952. The town of Flatwoods and Mayor Clise have scheduled a three
day special event festival to commemorate the arrival of the mysterious visitor
that landed in their town. The festival will take place within the town limits
and rotate around the Flatwoods Monster Museum.
To celebrate this historical UFO Incident , Mayor Clise has invited some very special
guests who will be in attendance to meet the public. Scheduled to appear will
be primary witness, Mrs. Kathleen May who sighted the monster from a distance of
a mere few feet. Her son Fred May who saw both the monster and it's craft in flight
will also be present. Joining these two key witnesses will be author/illustrator
Frank Feschino Jr. who worked closely for many years with these eyewitnesses
while writing his planned forthcoming book.
Feschino will exhibit some of his ten years worth of research material he used in
his investigation, at the Flatwoods Monster Museum. He will also have an exhibit
of some of his original art illustrations depicting scenes from this Incident. Feschino
will display a life size to scale, 12 foot tall
canvas painting of the Flatwoods Monster. These high-quality paintings will
make their debut exhibit appearances to the public for this special three day festival.
Mayor Clise and the town of Flatwoods will be holding several special
Monsterous events for the whole family to enjoy during this 50th anniversary festival
on September 12-13-14. No where else will the public actually meet the people
involved with this infamous story and see the research and illustrations for the
up-coming book- except in FLATWOODS HOME OF THE GREEN MONSTER.
Updates will be posted for times and days of special events.
